OTHER NEWS
On the final day of Inman Disconnect in the Desert 2018, a small group of entrepreneurs, brokerage owners, MLS association leaders and executives descended on the grounds of the Parker Palm Springs Hotel to discuss the future of the real estate industry.
The result of their work, a set of 12 guidelines dubbed the Parker Principles after the venue where they were drafted, is now available, absolutely free, as a poster for Inman Select members eager to embody a new ethos that places the consumer above all.
With ideas and axioms on transforming the industry from a sales profession to a service-oriented business, simplifying the buying and selling process and raising ethical standards, the beautifully designed 16-by-24 inch paper poster is a great way to send a message of solidarity. Simply fill out the order form here, and a poster (pictured in partial above) will be shipped to your address (U.S. only at this time — limit 1,000).
But wait, there’s more!
Inman Select members can also download a free e-book copy of our series of articles on leadership that preceded the Parker Principles. Titled Leadership: How Real Estate Leaders Can Act Decisively to Change the Industry, it offers a comprehensive blueprint for real estate leadership in the 21st century, complete with Q&A’s with top executives, articles, survey results, insights and strategies for surviving in the 21st century.

CONTRIBUTOR FACEBOOK PAGE
We use our contributor Facebook group as an alert system for stories as they are published as well as a sounding board for contribs as we work on stories. If you aren't a member but would like to be, please shoot me an email at [email protected].
You can also use the Facebook group to:
- Like your favorite stories each week, and give props to your colleagues.
- Post a favorite passage -- If you read something that just speaks to you, post it in the group and give the author a big shout out.
- Crowdsource -- I can't think of a better place to ask other willing, intelligent real estate writers for advice, resources, quotes, sources -- basically anything you need to write a great story.
- Talk about your story -- You will see us doing this more and more, as well as asking you questions about your stories and sharing more about ours. We invite you to do this too.
- Give kudos or constructive criticism, and ask questions -- This is the perfect place to have a discussion about what a story needed, what an author did amazingly well or remaining questions for the writer.
