This week's contributor profile is Brian McKenna. Check out his work on his Inman profile. I had a little q-and-a session with him, and here is what he had to say: Brian's Inman Profile Brian McKenna manages two residential resale offices for Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices, Blake. You can follow him on Twitter and on Facebook. Brian is also the author of "Generation NOW Recruiting, Training and Retaining Millennials as Realtors and as Clients." | How long have you been a contributor? I have been a contributor for just a few months! What made you want to contribute? When I needed help with a few writing ideas Brad Inman was willing to give me a few minutes on a few occasions. His guidance has been invaluable. I am grateful and appreciate the opportunity to contribute. What has been your favorite article to write so far? I enjoyed the one about "The Drift" because it's a reminder I personally need almost daily. What has been your favorite piece of feedback so far? The best piece of feedback has come from a particularly cantankerous competitor. He emailed me a few bullet points to consider and they were thought provoking and well-written. What do you do in your spare time? Spare time? I have terrific kids -- Matthew and Kylie -- who are both in college and a wonderful wife -- Saint Heather. They are my first choices when spare time appears. What is your passion? I was just asked this at a leadership meeting and the answer just popped out. My passion is to make at least a little progress in every goal area every day. What advice would you give to other aspiring real estate professionals? Three things: Do what you say you're going to do; follow the golden rule (It still hasn't been topped) and; don't take yourself too seriously. Life is far too short to miss the fun parts What advice would you give to new contributors? Since I'm quite new I know that being open and even hungry for constructive criticism is key! |
