This week's contributor profile is Racael Hite. Check out her Inman profile here. I has a little q-and-a session with her via email. Here is what she had to say: Rachael's Inman bioSOCIAL MEDIA-REX, Coffee addict, and writer. After I spent 7 years practicing real estate, I was fortunate enough to land a career doing what I love most. By day I create curriculum to help agents develop business. By night I’m tweeting for www.listingdepot.com . When I’m not liking or tweeting, I’m either fixing a snack for my kiddo, reading on my kindle, or hanging with my family and friends in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley. | How long have you been a contributor? I started writing late last year. What made you want to contribute? I love to write. I used to work in radio and newspaper, so this felt like a natural next step. I have been working in RE since 2007, and I'm really passionate about customer service and improving our industry. What has been your favorite article to write so far? My favorite piece so far -- so hard to choose! My yoga piece was really fun. What has been your favorite piece of feedback so far? I love it when agent's take the time to send me a personal email stating that something I shared helped them. I work with agent's daily to help them improve and develop business. It is a rewarding career. What do you do in your spare time? My mom and I take "mini adventures" on the weekend. From zip lining, to hiking, to zombie runs we have really been taking advantage of all of the fun outdoor activities in our local area. She is my best friend and my inspiration. When I'm at home, I'm hanging out with my kiddo, working in my yard and trying to do improvements to my 1950's cape cod haphazardly. I love to read, paint and do projects with my hands. I think it's really important to make time for creative work. What are your passions? Family, friends, education, creativity and great customer service. What advice would you give to other aspiring real estate professionals? You need to have a plan and a mentor. They are critical components to establishing yourself. Be humble, you cannot do everything; you need a great team to help you. Most of all do good work without expecting favors in return. Stop looking for a pat on the back for a good job -- Its your job to do a good job and improve your local community. What advice would you give to new contributors? Have a good friend or mentor help edit the initial draft. Brainstorm good ideas with co-workers. *Read the newsletters! (LOL). No seriously -- I love the newsletters; they are chocked full of good advice for us nutty artist types. Connect with each other on Facebook and Instagram and cheer on good work! Give props to others on Twitter :) |
