This week's contributor profile is Wade Vander Molen. Check out his Inman profile here. I had a little q-and-a session via email with him. Here is what he had to say: Wade's Inman bio I am the Director of Sales/Marketing for Stewart Title in the Northern Virginia/Washington DC area and have been in the Title Industry since 2005. I help Real Estate professionals with all facets of their marketing along with teaching a new sustainable business model to help them grow their business. | What has been your favorite article to write thus far? “Why you should be creating hyper-local content online.” I like this one because I teach many real estate marketing classes around the Northern VA/Washington DC area and I’m constantly re-enforcing with Realtors that “hyper-local” is the way to go when trying to rank content online and get found in your local market. Realtors think they need to rank for very generic terms but don’t understand how tough that is and what they have to do. Hyper-local is the way to go. What do you do in your spare time? In my spare time I do everything sports/athletics. I like to play basketball, golf, running and do “Insanity Max 30.” Having ways to work off stress and keep your body strong is something I feel is important in our business. What advice would you give other aspiring real estate professionals? I’m not an agent, but I’m always teaching them real estate marketing strategies to succeed. My advice would be to get educated on the contract as much as possible and have some level of understanding of the escrow/title process. Having that knowledge is huge. Also, pick your marketing strategies wisely. There are many to choose, but just because Realtor A in your office does something doesn’t mean that is what you should be doing. Find your own way. Don’t always listen to other agents on why you should or should not do something. Take the time to find what works best for you, then master it. What made you want to contribute? I wanted to share my knowledge to other Realtors and lenders out there, and hopefully assist them in learning more about their craft. The more you know and higher level of execution you have, the more success you should find. Thank you for sharing with us Wade. |
