This week's contributor profile is Warren Ng. Check out his work on his Inman profile. I had a little q-and-a session with him, and here is what he had to say: WARREN'S INMAN BIO Warren Ng is the Head of Marketing at Notion, a simple home awareness solution. Former Director of Marketing at Winter Park Resort, Co-Founder / COO of Napkin Labs, and consultant at Sterling Rice Group. | How long have you been a contributor? Three weeks. (Editor's note: it's been more like five weeks now.) What made you want to contribute? Technology in the real estate industry has largely been ignored. Contributing to Inman with a focus on bringing greater attention to the value that technology can provide to help real estate professionals find a competitive edge is my motivation. What has been your favorite article to write so far? As only just a new contributor, I've only contributed the one post "The New Age of the Smart Apartment." The smart home is a common reference in the consumer tech industry. Applying this same thinking in the real estate industry has surprisingly been ignored -- leaving an incredibly ripe opportunity for the property managers and owners who run, not walk to this white space. What has been your favorite piece of feedback so far? It was encouraging to see the volume of shares the article and reach. With hope, in time, this will be a much more widely discussed topic. What do you do in your spare time? Lots and lots of golf. What is your passion? Too many to describe, but if it has to do with experiencing nature -- great outdoors in some form, you can add it to the list. This would include golf, skiing, camping, mountain biking, etc. What advice would you give to other aspiring real estate professionals? You will only be as good as you are able to differentiate yourself competitively. What advice would you give to new contributors? Be engaging and thought provoking. Sometimes that means being polarizing. |
